PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYOR BY EXAM (First PLS Licensure)

Pass the NCEES FS & PS (you may sit for the NCEES PS exam with an active LAPELS LSI) Obtain 4 years of acceptable/verified progressive surveying experience - please see Rule 1515.B, 1517.B, and 1519.B. for more information Obtain 5 Personal References of which 3 must have an active PLS license Pass the PLS interview Pass the Louisiana Laws of Surveying Exam

PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYOR BY COMITY (Holds a PLS license in another state)

Pass the NCEES FS and PS 4-year BS Degree with 30 hours of approved surveying courses or an ASAC Geomatics degree Actively licensed as a PLS in another state or jurisdiction Obtain 4 years of acceptable/verified progressive surveying experience. Please see Rule 1515.B, 1517.B, and 1519.B. for more information Obtain 5 Personal References of which 3 must have an active PLS license Pass the Louisiana Laws of Surveying Exam
